This card eats up everything I throw at it, I can play Crysis on high at 1650x1080 with x4 AA and get a solid 45 FPS.
More powerful than a similarly priced Radeon HD 4890, quieter, and a few bucks cheaper to boot. (Though less overclocking potential, which doesn't matter to the average user anyway.)
Be careful though, this card is GIGANTIC! Its about the length of my elbow to my wrist and weighs like four pounds, make sure you have a big clear area inside your computer to put this bad boy.
Such a great deal for 190$ after rebate. |
Nice card !!!

The "PNY GTX 275" is a very powerful card.
I have an OCZ power supply (600) and this card runs every game I played.
I'm very happy with my purchase.
Thanks to Amazon.com. Fast delivery and best price. |
Excellent Card!

Upgraded from a 8800GT. This card is a beast. I play at 1650x1080 and it chews everything up max settings. Would of went with EVGA but they were all sold out for months. EVGA has the 90 day step up and a better warranty.
Purchased this over the 4890 because I use CUDA for video encoding (CUDA > STREAM) and I also fold. Performance is pretty much the same otherwise.
Most people who had a downgrade in performance from a previous generation probably didn't set their computer up right.
-Completely wipe all old drivers. This ensures your installation is fresh and there are no conflicts.
-Change the fan settings. (it is defaulted at 30%) If you don't when the card gets hot your performance will suffer. This can be done with programs like Rivatuner or Speedfan.
-Make sure your PSU meets not only the wattage but also the AMP requirement. It will still work but performance will suffer and possible BSODs. Older/cheaper PSUs fall short in AMPS.

Had just one of these installed and was so impressed I bought a second wanting a at least a 50% boost. Now the computer feels almost slower. I need to do tweeking and configure more because I am so far not impressed.
Buy one and a great buy.
Verdict not in on two.
This is the best deal in gaming cards for nvidia. The PC felt like a new system once installed.
Specs were on first order

**Star Rating due to buying one good product and spending more and getting a worse product
>I will get my system working fast I'm sure, but for the effort if you are not into that, don't expect an immediate jump in peformance without getting dirty
**Last, with one card as in my original build I was getting maxed settings in Crysis at 1920x1200 all features set to entusiast in game, no lag. So beautiful and lots better than the jumpy medium settings at 1200x8xx on my ATI 1900x - Best single upgrade experience in a long while (the buying one part at least):)

It's OK card for that price, even the price before rebate is close to a GTX216. The image on Amazon.com is not accurate. It's made according to Nvidia's reference card, but they shrink the heat sink,it's smaller than the reference. So the cooling is not very good. The replace the shielded inductors with cheaper ones. I cannot verify the quality of other components.
I'm surprised when I the shoddy box: on the back side of the box, they just glue a piece of paper to describe the product. The paper is not big enough to cover the box and only one side has enough glue to stick to the box. And print quality of the paper is also poor (it must be from a ink printer) I even doubt it's a fake product. So I'm worried about the quality if they save money like this. |
